Steve is the CEO and an Executive Director of Bluestone Mortgages Ltd, a fast-growing specialist lender with a strong focus on supporting borrowers with complex credit profiles.  As an experienced financial services executive with over 25 years of experience in the UK mortgage market, Steve has brought his wealth of industry knowledge to help Bluestone establish itself as a market-leading specialist lender, expand its product range, and drive significant growth.

Steve joined Bluestone Mortgages in Sept 2017 as Sales & Marketing Director before being promoted to CEO in August 2019. Prior to joining Bluestone, Steve was Head of Sales for the Kent Reliance brand at OneSavings Bank, during which time Steve led the sales team through a period of exceptional growth as the Buy-to-Let market went through key changes in tax treatment and underwriting.

With an unrivalled passion for the industry he works in and a hunger to help those disenfranchised from the mainstream mortgage market, Steve has recently been recognised by some of the leading bodies and associations across the mortgage space.  This includes elections to UK Finance’s Mortgage Board for a three-year term, to be Chair of UK Finance’s Specialist Lenders Working Group, and as a Co-opted Director of the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association. He now sits alongside some of the leading voices across the industry to ensure standards are maintained and to influence the future direction of travel.

Steve’s achievements at Bluestone have been recognised by the industry; he was awarded CEO of the Year 2021 by CEO Monthly, awarded Business Leader: Complex Credit Lender in 2021 at The British Specialist Lending Awards and shortlisted for the same award in 2022.

Steve is an active and passionate campaigner of diversity and inclusion, using his experiences as an openly gay man to support and champion the LGBT+ community.  Steve has been identified as a ‘Change Maker’ by Mortgage Solutions for his work in promoting equality & diversity within the UK mortgage sector.
