Rachel has lived and worked with the Armed Forces Community for over twenty-seven years. She is married to Steve, a serving officer in the AAC, and they have two children.
Rachel is a strong ally of the LGBT community and a keen supporter of Fighting with Pride since its inception. As a parent of a young adult with Downs Syndrome, she has been a strong advocate for his needs and those in the Armed Forces community, whose voices are not often heard.
Following on from a successful career in retail, Rachel moved to Germany and gained real-life experience in transitioning into military life as a spouse. This was not without its challenges; however, it has led to a fulfilling and varied career in the military charity sector.
Rachel currently works for Cobseo, the Confederation of Services Charities, as the Programme & Cluster Manager.
Her life experiences have compounded with her professional roles, to give Rachel an exceptional set of skills and the drive to affect change in policy and strategy, by ensuring the influence of decision-makers, by voicing those real-life experiences.
