Beckie served for five and a half years in the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS), giving her a strong connection to the Armed Forces community and a personal understanding of the experiences of those affected by the Armed Forces ban.
After leaving the WRNS, Beckie spent 32 years with Barclays, including 20 years as a Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager. Throughout her career she supported people from all walks of life, always placing empathy, listening and understanding at the heart of her approach.
Beckie is passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ and Armed Forces communities, helping those who may feel isolated or vulnerable to feel heard, valued and supported. She is looking forward to bringing her lived experience, compassion and many years of people‑focused leadership into her role with Fighting With Pride.
Beckie lives in Southsea with Sarah and their dog Tia, and enjoys walks along the seafront, travelling, and watching rugby, cricket and football.
