Support for our Trans family

A message from the Chair of ther Board of Trustees to our Trans Brothers and Sisters

Dear Friends,

I wanted to post to let you know that the Board of FWP is acutely aware of the challenges our T community faces after recent government announcements. We are taking a number of actions to ensure we deliver on our charitable objectives to support the LGBTQ+ Armed Forces Community.

Firstly, we are ensuring that the facilities and welcome for trans guests at the Community Dedication at the National Memorial Arboretum will be appropriate. If you have any concerns or worries, please reach out to us and we will address them with sensitivity.

Secondly, we have started conversations about the impact of the new guidance on serving colleagues, and will continue to explore what we can do as a charity to help.

Thirdly, I have added this issue to the agenda for the next trustee board meeting for a detailed and serious policy discussion. If you have views or comments that you would like us to consider, please contact me. My email is ed dot hall at fighting with pride dot org dot uk. (In code to confuse the bots).

In the meantime, if you are affected by this, and need some emotional support, please reach out to us. Or, frankly, if you would just like to chat to a friendly and understanding voice.

We are here for the whole LGBTQ+ Armed Forces Community, and whilst this is a fast-moving and difficult time (with more questions than answers), we will do what we can.

Ed
Chair of Trustees
