Manager of Volunteers
(She/Her)
Rachael brings over two decades of experience in the non-profit sector, with a strong focus on inclusion and community engagement. She began her career as a probation officer and has since worked across sectors supporting diverse communities.
At Stonewall Cymru, Rachael coordinated the volunteer programme and developed the charity’s information service for the LGBTQ+ community in Wales. She recruited, trained, and supported volunteers, ensuring they felt empowered, valued, and integrated into the team.
Rachael later joined Hourglass, a charity which campaigns to end the abuse of older people and delivers support to those affected. As Director for Wales, and later UK Director of Performance and Partnerships, she established the charity’s presence in Wales, organised national campaigns and events, developed strategic partnerships, designed training, and oversaw the UK helpline services.
Rachael is a trainer and facilitator with a commitment to equity, social change, and wellbeing. She has designed and delivered programmes for cross-sector clients across the UK. She was also a lived experience speaker for Time to Change Wales, challenging stigma around mental health.
Rachael is a trustee for Age Connects Morgannwg and sits on the Local Strategic Involvement Panel for CPS Wales-Cymru. Outside of work she enjoys learning languages, attends acting workshops, and previously performed in an improvised comedy troupe. She has a passion for creative writing and is currently working on a novel.
