Sarah Rabin from the King’s Centre for Military Health Research is a PhD student doing a project on the health and well-being of UK LGBTQ+ serving and ex-serving military personnel who joined and served in the post-ban era.

Caroline Paige and Craig Jones are both part of Sarah’s stakeholder group and they have suggested that Sarah could find subjects for her study through FWP.

Specifically, Sarah is looking for volunteers from the LGBTQ+ serving or ex-serving community who joined and served AFTER the ban was lifted, post 12 January 2000.

To take part, interested folks should email Sarah, who will then send them a survey with demographic information (year of joining, LGBTQ+ status, etc.) and use that to determine their eligibility for an interview. If they are selected, she will set up an interview time with them. The questions are designed to facilitate a conversation that should last around 60 minutes. They will receive a £20 Amazon voucher for their time.

A flyer that gives more details is attached here. The study is currently running through to March 2026 but maybe subject to change.

Please email Sarah on [email protected] to take part
