Tom is currently serving in the British Army where he has had a varied career in both the UK and overseas.
Tom joined the British Army in 2009 in a career that has seen him deploy around the world, commanding soldiers on operations. He has also worked in the strategic centres of both the Army Headquarters and the Ministry of Defence, where he has developed and implemented strategy and been at the centre of balancing finances with military capability.
A passionate advocate for others, Tom has volunteered in support of the Army Cadet Forces throughout his career where, as an openly LGBT+ serving officer, he acts as a role model for the younger generation.
Tom is also a Trustee of Breakout Youth, a LBGTQ+ charity for young people in Hampshire & Isle of Wight, where he has served as Chair since 2023.
Tom brings a broad range of experience in strategic planning, finance, and risk management. Whilst not directly affected by the ‘gay ban’, he hopes to use his skills and experience, along with his passion, to help and improve the lives of others.
